• To create a new e-commerce platform which incorporates a customer portal for re-ordering, bespoke pricing, returns, order tracking, invoices, despatch notes and profile management.

• Improve the user experience for customers in all aspects of the process.

• Feed in all products from the existing Sage 50 system to allow for real-time updates.

• Create a solution that aligns all existing systems into a single, linked entity.

The solution and results:
Built for Marketing’s relationship with SSP began back in 2012. Working closely with the business’ Directors, we have supported their ambitious business growth plans, providing a breadth of services ranging from growth and brand recognition with market positioning, full marketing strategy planning, sales integration and research.

The growth of SSP has seen them improve their turnover by 80% in the last 10 years and Built for Marketing are proud to have been a part of the committed effort to deliver exceptional customer service and an ever-increasing choice of products for access control and gate automation, growing their stock holding from 2 industrial units to 7, in that same time period.

The website development project discussions began in 2019. The key objective was to introduce an intuitive user experience online, which not only managed sales and dispatch of product but also provided a customer portal within the platform for re-ordering purposes, bespoke pricing, returns, order tracking, invoices, dispatch notifications and profile management. The existing source of sales orders received are predominantly via telephone and SSP were keen to ensure that their customers did not feel alienated or disconnected from the valued human contact and personal support they currently receive offline.

After a tender process to identify the most appropriate partner to deliver the integration and platform build, Pingala Media were selected for their experience and knowledge of systems integration and e-commerce user experience. Built for Marketing and Pingala worked closely from brief, to strategy, wireframe approval and delivery, including website content creation.

Throughout the entire project, we kept clear lines of communication with SSP, building a strong understanding of their business, process and people.

The outcome of this working relationship means the new e-commerce site is intuitive in design and functionality. It delivers a clear and simple user experience whilst staying within the set budget, outlined for this project. 

By working with Built for Marketing and Pingala Media, SSP had the advantages of best practice, business acumen, and development experience which has undoubtedly added immense value to the overall project. 

In 2021, we now move into phase two of the project, where ideas and processes are being enhanced further to continue to challenge and enhance the customers experience of SSP.
